Friends!
This is our first post from Ecuador! As you can imagine, working internet has been hard to come by — but that hasn’t stopped us from enjoying our time in Ecuador to the fullest. After a few days in Quito, getting acquainted with each other and walking the beautiful streets of Quito’s old town, we made our way across the equatorial line (the center of the world!) to the town of Iltaqui, where we will spend the majority of our time working on several community service projects. Upon arrival to Iltaqui, we were welcomed by almost 100 people, dressed in traditional attire who performed traditional dances and welcomed us to join in a traditional communal meal. Words can barely describe the experience. Our community is ecstatic to have us here for the summer and we feel grateful for the exceptional hospitality.
While there is no working internet in our community (which means most of us will have difficulty communicating with friends and family back home on a regular basis), we will update this blog as frequently as possible and let you in on our grand adventures. For now, rest assured that we are having a BLAST! We’ve attached a few pictures of our last few days to give you a taste of our adventures!
¡Abrazo desde Ecuador!
